To Win For our Red and Blue: An Autobiography by Irvin Taylor
TO WIN FOR OUR RED AND BLUE
Fight! Fight! Fight! for old Red and Blue;
Show your might and we'll root for you.
Get on your toes when you meet your foes
And don't let them go through.
TECH! TECH! TECH!
Hit those lines like good old Canines;
Break through for a touchdown or two.
Hold up your chin and let's all go in
To win for our Red and Blue.
IN BOOKSTORES NEAR YOU! Read the real life story of a high school coach who attempted to lead the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs towards prominence in his new autobiography, To Win For Our Red and Blue. Irvin Taylor made a name for himself at the high school ranks after achieving four consecutive LHSAA state titles thanks in part to his superior knowledge of the Xs and Os, but also because of some unique coaching methods that are now considered a norm at the college ranks. Can Coach Taylor take the lowly LaTech Bulldogs from the middle of the WAC conference to new heights? Read To Win For Our Red and Blue to find out!Comment

Irvin Taylor, an American football coach, grew up in the countryside of northern Louisiana to a single mother of three. Coming from a poor family in a football town, Taylor held close to his love for the sport of football. After graduating high school Taylor elected to head to Lousiana Tech on a football scholarship to play defensive end in 1984, but tragically tore his ACL before receiving any playing time and was unable to recover from the injury. Taylor majored in history and became a graduate assistant coach at LaTech before accepting a full-time coaching position at a near-by high school soon after. Twenty years and four state titles later, Irvin Taylor returned to the great city of Rustin, Louisiana to make his mark on his alma mater. Upon reaching campus and being named head coach, Taylor proclaimed," I came back to compete with LSU, not ULM and ULL, and that is what I intend to do here."
