After being rumored to be going to the NBA, he finally got his offer. He is not changing arena's or even moving, he is staying right here in Louisville,Kentucky. Owner Cody extended an offer to Rick to be come the first head coach in Louisville Panther's history.
We will be holding a press conference for all the coaches as we sign them.
Owner Cody and new Head Coach Rick Pitino have agreed to offer former Cavaliers player and GM Danny Ferry. He will assume the same position in Louisville.
When asked Cody said," We wanted somebody with experience and who has been to the finals. With Ferry we get both of these. Ferry and Pitino have assembled our roster while I have been talking to coaches."

Louisville will hire Ralph Willard from the University of Louisville. He was brought on the request of Rick Pitino who also came from Louisville. Ralph on being hired," I am excited for the new challenges. I know Rick well and I think we can accomplish a lot here on this new pro team."
Louisville will also hire Ben Jacobson from Northern Iowa University. He defeated number one seeded Kansas last year. He was rumored for the head coaching job before it was handed to Pitino but from some sources is the next coach in line.
Yesterday, the KFC YUM Center in Louisville,Kentucky held it's first ever NBA game and what a surprise it was. A lot of fans showed up, more than expected. Coach Rick Pitino said he was glad to see all his former players give him a warm welcome as the team was at the game. "I am going to miss those guys he," he said, "but maybe I will be able to coach them again some day." It was a good day as well as the Panthers got their first ever win. "This should be the only time we celebrate a regular season win like this." Said Panthers GM Danny Ferry.
Next up the Panthers will play the Cavaliers, a team Danny Ferry used to be the GM of and play for. "There is sort of revenge, or respect here. I am not sure what to call it but I want to prove to them they were wrong for letting me go." The Panthers need a big game out of JR Smith who dropped 40 points last night in the Ville's win.
After players of the former NBA team known as the Raptors discussed their future with NBA officials they agreed they would be put into the free agency pool. One of the NBA officials said,"They wanted to choose their destination, so we will let them do what they need to do to find a job." "What we had planned would have put them all on different teams with their current contracts."
With former Toronto Raptors players still finding new homes, one player might be heading to the new expansion franchise in Louisville.
GM Danny Ferry has come to an agreement with big man Amir Johnson. Some experts were worried that the Panthers didn't have enough depth at the PF/C position. With this signing it adds to Tyler Hansborough, Big Baby Davis, and Eric Dampier.
When we talked to Johnson on the signing he said,"I am looking for a new start. I looked at all my options on where to go and I think I would fit in best with Coach Pitino and the Panthers."
We expect Johnson to receive significant playing time for the Panthers(1-0) against the Cleveland Cavaliers(1-0) tomorrow night. We would like to congratulate the Panthers and Johnson on this move.
GM Danny Ferry has filled the Panthers roster, and while adding the scoring threat they have been needing in the process.
Today Panther officials announced the signing of PG Jose Calderon, who was surprised by not being offered a job yet. "We are glad to bring him on to our roster. Him and Johnson have chemistry, which is what we need in a young duo." The only remaining Toronto Raptors player still unsigned is Rookie PF Ed Davis.
Also, the Panthers have put G Jodie Meeks on the active roster. He will be getting minutes to come off the bench to provide a scoring spark.
