Rough Start
The new expansion team, Louisville Panthers, have hit a rough start to the season. They are having trouble on both ends of the court. When we talked to coach Pitino on it he said, "We don't have a lot of talent right now, we are still trying to work together as a team. Right now we are taking one step at a time."The Panthers have won lone game where the offense exploded against the New York Knicks. Since then they have dropped 4 in a row.
We know that their is not much they can do with this talent, but after looking at tape they are not running enough plays. They are trying to score on the fast break all the time. Also, they don't have a consistent scorer outside of JR Smith, they have plenty of people who have potential, but they have not lived up to it yet.
We have heard from some sources in Louisville that GM Danny Ferry may be interested in bringing in a Defensive Mentor/Coach. We have not heard any rumors for who it would be.
Next game the Panthers will be taking on the Portland Trail Blazers in the KFC Yum arena. They will have a chance if they can shut down the combo of Roy/Oden. We expect them to run some more plays and make better passes as they are near the top in turnovers.
