Heat, Spurs agree on trade
Despite this trade making complete and total sense for both teams, it came as a great surprise. The day the Spurs come into South Beach to play the Miami Heat, both teams agreed to a trade that sent 2 young phenoms to the locker room across the hall. Disgruntled combo guard Stephen Curry and a project center Raynardo Morales were sent away from the Heat.
Morales was the 30th pick in the past draft. He has potential to be a Chris Kaman type player, we'll see if that happens.
Stephen Curry should be a great upgrade over current starter for the Spurs, PJ Couisnard. He needs to improve his shots tremendously and his on ball defense. This allows him to be mentored by Bonzi Wells on the bench. Curry has been upset since the start of the season. He believed he should be receiving starter minutes. He was averaging 18 minutes off the bench, which was near the league leaders. Stephen was averaging 12.5 points over the past 12 games off the bench, but the Heat believe what they got can more then make up for what they lost. They got John Wall
The 5th pick in this past seasons NBA draft, John Wall, was sent to Miami in the trade. Drafted based upon the reason Tony Parker wouldn't resign with the team, to find out soon after in free agency that Tony Parker would sign a 5 year deal worth 115M. They Spurs also have George Hill at point guard, and it looks like they are in the works of a new contract for him.
Wall was averaging just over 5 minutes a game off the bench for the Spurs, which is unacceptable for a top 5 pick. The 6'4 point guard from Kentucky should be a great fit off the Heat bench, as he is a true point guard, unlike Curry. He needs to improve his jumpshot, but he has the tools to be a great player. All three players will dress for tonight's game.sig is too big, resize itComment
