Heat's Beasley Earns Second Player of the Week Award

Elusive. Power. Smooth. Just 3 words used to describe Michael Beasley. He is tearing up the league in only the start of his 3rd season. He has won his second player of the week award. There has only been 3 given out this season. Last year it seemed to start in the playoffs, especially the finals, where he won the Finals MVP award. He has really improved his low post defense and blocking to go along with his agile ability to slash and shoot. An example of his great low post defense was in the last game, where Michael Beasley scored 34 points, had 9 rebounds, and most importantly, 9 blocks. That's pretty amazing for a 6'9/6'10 player that is suppose to be playing Small Forward according to the media. Beasley will look to keep up his hot ways both on offense and defense as the Heat play the Wizards in the second game of a home and home in Miami.

"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.
