BREAKING NEWS!!
Boozer Out in Miami?!
Reports out of Miami is Carlos Boozer has been involved in a 3 way trade involving the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets. This trade has come out of no where. There was no rumors involving any of the players involved in the trade. Though I'm not surprised Boozer has been traded, as his numbers dropped dramatically this season compared to last season, and seems like his effort has left himself. Rumors has been going around that Boozer attempted to start a fist fight with Shawne Williams a few days after he was signed. The reported trade went down like this..
Miami Heat Receive
Andris Biedrins
Reggie Evans
Warriors Receive
Carlos Boozer
Gerald Green
Rockets Receive
Al Harrington
Looks like a well rounded trade to me. Heat get a future top tier center in Biedrins. This also allows Beasley to move back to Power Forward, letting him face smaller players for more chances to play very well. Reggie Evans was just a contract filler it looks like. The Heat will probably let him go on his 5M expiring. I would say the Warriors won this deal. They get Carlos Boozer, an elite low post player and Gerald Green, a guy that can jump out of the gym and has mad potential still. This trade also allows Blake Griffin to move into the starting lineup. Probably the biggest reason for the Warriors to make this trade happen. The Rockets get rid of two 3rd string players in return for a starting power forward they desperately needed. They weren't going anywhere with Chuck Hayes starting at PF. It sure will be interesting how this trade works out for all 3 teams. Did Heat get the player they really need in Biedrins? We'll have to find out.
