I'm not even going to write this one up, because it is too ridiculous. Carlos Beltran has been activated off the DL, but wait, he's re-injured two days later and is back on the DL.

Bay Demands Trade, Wishes Come True
FLUSHING, New York - The mighty have fallen, and fallen hard. Jason Bay, who was the major player in the Manny Ramirez trade just two seasons ago, was traded for two bench players this afternoon.
Some may ask why the Mets sold him so low, but the evidence is right in front of them. Bay's contract is about to jump from $6 million per season to $16 million per season, and with his recent benching for performance, the market is low for Bay. "We needed to make a trade as soon as possible. Both us and Jason wanted this to be over quickly, and there were not many teams willing to take on the salary," said GM Chris Eckenrod.
In the end, Bay was traded to the Kansas City Royals for Rick Ankiel and Victor Soto, both outfielders. The Royals are a surprise team as they would not be one to spend money, but the thought is that maybe with Bay back in a small market, he will relax and play better, and the Royals could trade him higher.Comment
