Bats Break Out in Game One & Three; Lose Game 2 Late

Seattle broke out the bats in big fashion for their home opener.

Saunders had a great bounce-back start after his first outing this year was disappointing.

Erik Bedard continued to struggle, allowing three balls to leave the yard after his team got him a 1-0 lead in the first.

Manager Eric Wedge found himself more than pleased with the offensive output.

        Things to look for:
        • The last two games of this series may be a slugfest, with all 4 pitchers struggling early on in the year.
        • The Angels (who are currently in first place, finish a series against the A's before heading to Houston. They will likely win the Houston series, so the M's will need to perform well to hold their ground in the division.

M's Take It To Darvish & Rangers; Take 3 of 4 at Home

Darvish looked perplexed as four Mariners took him deep, the last being for a 3-run bomb.

It was a happy manager as the Mariners showed up to play in the homestand, winning 5 of 7 games to hold onto 2nd place in the AL West.

                  Things to look for:
                  • Miguel Cabrera has been struggling at the plate so far this spring. See if he can rebound against the 5-1-2 of Seattle.
                  • The Angels continue with a soft portion of their schedule, taking on Minnesota. It wouldn't be surprising if they gained a game on Seattle here.

Very impressive series win over the Rangers, especially over Darvish. His slider is straight nasty (least to me). Big test early against the Tigers though.
