Ferguson Answers Questions Before Travel Day
Press: Coach, is it part of your strategy to fly out in the middle of the week?

AF: Yes, we want to get the men an opportunity to see some of the landmark areas in New York.

Press: Where will you practice while you're in the New York area?

AF: We've made arrangements to practice at a small college. I'm good friends with the coaching staff at that school.

Press: Do you think the tourism part will distract your players from focusing on the game?

AF: It could, but our itinerary is planned in a way that they'll be focused on the game. It's going to be a fun week for the team, but a business trip as well.

Press: Do you expect Heinicke to run the ball more this week?

AF: It really depends on how their defense gameplans for us. It'll be up to him on some of the playcalls, but we'll make in-game adjustments too.

Press: After last week's struggles, how are the defensive backs looking this week?

AF: They're making improvements and they should be better this week. We try to get better in every aspect of our game each week.

Press: Will the coaching staff have strict rules while away from campus with all the activities you have planned?

AF: Of course. Any time you do something fun, there have to be strict guidelines; especially with a group of men that is this big.

Press: Ticket sales aren't very high, as people may have expected. Did that factor in to planning a neutral site game with UMass?

AF: Of course it factored in, but it's an opportunity for both of our teams to do some sightseeing and play some football in an NFL stadium. We're excited about that.

        Old Dominion Sports Big Win
        Post-Game Press Conference
Press: You guys were able to dominate every aspect of this game, what contributed to the success.

AF: I think the team's focus was the biggest factor for us. We went out there with a gameplan and executed it.

Press: Heinicke had a big day passing and rushing, was this part of the game plan?

AF: It wasn't necessarily that he had a big day. It was our offensive line that had the big day, creating holes for everyone to run through.

Press: The defensive backs got beat several times, but defended the pass and forced dropped passes. Is this where you want them to be?

AF: Our guys didn't get beat necessarily, they just threw underneath them. They did a great job of hitting and jarring the ball loose.

Press: Do you think the balance of fun and focus contributed on the field?

AF: It may have, that's not really a question for me to answer. You'll have to ask the players.

Press: Was it nice being able to get your starters some rest?

AF: It was great to get the backups some experience. We run many sets and have such a fast-paced tempo that even they will see some "starter's minutes" throughout the season.

Press: Now that you have a winning streak, do you think you have a shot at running the table?

AF: We'd like to, our ultimate goal is to win as many games as we can. We're going to take it one day at a time though.

This catches you guys up to where I am. I'm also doing a MLB dynasty with the Twins that I'll post at a later point. I'm not going to post everything because I'm 61 games into the season.
