Week 16 Game Recap
CINCINNATI, OH -- The Vikings definitely know how to win. Even when Adrian Peterson doesn't get 200 yards. Instead, he just missed the two-century mark on Sunday afternoon as Minnesota crushed the Bengals 38-12. Now, with a win or a Bears loss in week 17, the Vikings will be NFC North champions. Peterson might have had 200 yards if he hadn't been removed from the game in the fourth quarter due to injury. He will play against the Lions however, although top cornerback Chris Cook will not, as he suffered a dislocated knee in the third quarter. Cook will return for the playoffs even if the Vikings do not get a first round bye, although if they do, he may get an extra week to recover.
Quarterback Matt Cassel put in what little Peterson missed that he had in previous games, in addition to his usual production, as he threw for over 200 yards and three touchdowns, and had this to say.
"We just gotta leave it all out there on the field, when we do that, we usually win as evidenced here today. Now we gotta do it all again next week too and try to head into the playoffs on the right foot."
Leslie Frazier was smiling just like Cassel, but when asked about a controversial play in the fourth quarter where Cordarrelle Patterson muffed a punt in the end zone, leading to a supposed safety, Frazier responded.
"The ball clearly never left the end zone. I don't blame our guys for trying to recover it, it should have been a touchback. Focused on next week though, can't dwell on the trivial things from the past."

Week 17 Game Recap
ST. PAUL, MN -- The Lions were almost able to ruin a sad day in Minnesota. Almost. But the Vikings just would not be stopped.
"The fans here today were louder than any fans I've ever been in front of, anywhere. This is an extremely sad day for me and for my teammates, I just love Minnesota. I love the fans. I love the staff. I love the city. I really didn't want to leave this place. I know the team doesn't want to either. But, we did give ourselves a few more games in this building so we gotta cherish those and keep churning out wins." said Adrian Peterson after the game. Peterson wasn't the only one to tear up, as there were many hugs going around the locker room, many players crying.
On the field, though, the Vikings were able to pull it out in the highest scoring game they have played this season, winning 52-45 over the Detroit Lions. Adrian Peterson ran for over 200 yards again, finishing the season a hair shy of 2,000, and he missed seven games. It's scary to think about what he could do in a full season running the way he did when he came back from injury. Matt Cassel threw for over 300 yards, and his arm was a big reason why the Vikings fought all the way through to the end of the game, let alone won it.
The Vikings defense may have given up a lot of points, but that didn't stop them from having some good moments, too, like when Brian Robison broke the single-season sack record with just under six minutes left in the third quarter. Robison finished the game with two sacks putting him at 24 for the year.
The win gives the Vikings a bye in the Wildcard round of the playoffs as the second seed.

Divisional Round Game Recap
ST. PAUL, MN -- Adrian Peterson never stopped running. And now the Vikings are one win away from going to Super Bowl XLVIII in East Rutherford. Peterson chimed in about the Vikings' 27-20 victory after the game.
"It's just a great feeling, coming out here emotionally charged having been able to do this, not to mention next week is our last time playing here so it just feels great to come out here and be able to do this for the fans. We have the best, most loyal fanbase in the entire league, and I know these guys are gonna stick with the team even after our move."
Peterson had yet another 200-yard game on Sunday, and ran for two scores. Matt Cassel threw for another, and Blair Walsh nailed two field goals at the end of the game to seal it.
The Eagles came off looking dejected, nobody moreso than first-year head coach Chip Kelly, who hasn't yet dealt with adversity. It will be interesting to see how the Eagles play next year as an effect of such an emotional loss.

Conference Championship Recap
ST. PAUL, MN -- The Vikings are headed to Super Bowl XLVIII.
After everything that happened, from announcing a move, then watching their season almost slip away, the Vikings took down the Packers in the NFC Championship Game and are going to the Super Bowl. Leslie Frazier took some time to reflect on the win and the season so far.
"It's been a roller coaster ride, just everything that happened this year, and now we're one win away from the promised land."
The Vikings took this one 56-17 in a game that was never even remotely close. Matt Cassel was more dominant than he has ever been in his entire career, throwing for 326 yards, while the Vikings got 162 out of Adrian Peterson's ground game. The starters were out of the game with about five minutes left, allowing backup quarterback Christian Ponder to get his first completion of the year. Ponder added, "They probably just gave it to me so that I could get a completion for the season. I don't care. I'm happy. I'm happy we won, now on to MetLife Stadium.
