      Super Bowl Recap

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -- It's finally over and through.

The Vikings went 12-4 in the regular season to clinch a first round bye. They took down the Eagles and Packers in the playoffs to clinch a spot in Super Bowl XLVIII. Then they went to MetLife Stadium and blew out the Baltimore Ravens 42-14 in the snow to bring the Lombardi Trophy home to the Twin Cities for the first and only time ever. Leslie Frazier chimed in.

"We played against a great team, the Ravens played a great game. It looked like it was going to be more competitive than they were, but we just came out firing at halftime. When that happened, we got out to a bigger lead, the game went on, that's when I started anticipating that, you know, we might be on the road to winning the Super Bowl."

"This team has been great to me," said owner Ryan Hudson. "I've only been here for one season, and it turns into the Lombardi Trophy. I'm really proud of the work these guys have put in this season, we fought back in a lot of games, did what we needed to do to get to this point and then finish the job. I'm just proud."

"It was all about the basics," added Adrian Peterson. "We just had to keep playing good, solid fundamental football and we would go far, and we went pretty far."

The Vikings, as usual, got boatloads of production from Peterson, and he was named MVP of the game after running the ball 26 times and gaining 175 yards on the ground and three scores, as well as catching two passes for 16 yards. Matt Cassel threw two picks, but neither was very costly, and he completed 18 passes for 211 yards and two scores. The defense was huge, intercepting Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco four times and never letting the Ravens get anything going.

The entire Broncos offense was crazy between Welker and Manning. I was shocked that the Ravens could hold them to 20 points. It was also surprising to see that Welker didn't break every receiving record in the record book.

I think Adrian Peterson had a better season when he was healthy though. He missed six games and still only fell 14 yards shy of 2,000. Just plain beast mode.

                        Vikings get Browner, re-sign Griffen

The Minnesota Vikings were able to re-sign Everson Griffen to a four year, $5.2 million contract after not being able to re-sign him in the player re-signing period. Minnesota also landed former Seahawks corner Brandon Browner for four years and $24 million, and sign a backup center in Ryan Bartholomew for three years and $3 million.
