[MLB The Show] RTTS Update Thread

Figured we could use a thread for Road to the Show updates for MLB 14: The Show. Anyone can come in and update with how their career is going, show video, screenshots, whatever. Feel free to update us however often or not you want.

So this just happened...

We're in the middle of May and I'm with the Portland Sea Dogs. We're in the bottom of the 13th, all tied up and we have a man on second when I come to the plate. My second walk-off hit of the season, first walk-off homer.

My 2B got drafted in the 3rd round by Texas, I decide to go to school for a year. A poor showing in the scout games and he's drafted in the 7th round by Colorado.

Start off hot, over .400 for three weeks, a hammy strain and a trip to the DL ensues. Come back and all of a sudden, my guy is starting 1 out if every 3 or 4 games. What the fuck?

I request a trade and I'm traded to Washington for Tyler Clippard lol.

Was also splitting time, so I changed positions to 3B and am now starting most days.

Batting around .350 now with 3 HR, 17 RBI in June. Not gonna make the AA All Star team because of all the time on the bench though.

3B - R/R

Had a pretty crappy showcase, going 2-12 with a handful of strikeouts. Ended up being the 29th pick of the 4th round to the Red Sox.

Hit really well out of the gate and kept it going for the first two months of the season. Once June rolled around I started slumping pretty bad. I still made the AA all-star team where I went 0-4. Now into the second half of July. I'm leading the league in homers, slugging and OPS.

Just went 5-7 and hit for the cycle in an extra innings game busting out of my slump. Got the cycle in the first four plate appearances.

Highlights of the season so far: walk-off single in the 10th, walk-off homer in the 13th, 2 homer game, hitting for the cycle, walk-off single in 12th.

EDIT: Just got called up to AAA Pawtucket on August 5.

Got my first HR in Double-A Ball w/ the Tulsa Drillers -

5 AB, 1 R, 1 H, 2 RBI, 0 BB, 1 SO and a .285 AVG for the game but I reserve the right to go nuts after 8 days into the season.

I get called up to AAA in mid May because they had an injury.

Of course I want to make an impression so what do I do? I launched the very first pitch over the fence.

I'm not a power hitter by no means but do have a little pop in the bat.

Well we made the playoffs in triple-a. Swept the first round and then I absolutely raked in the International League Championship, hitting 5 homers in 5 games. We won the IL championship but then lost to the Redbirds for the National Championship.

Got an invite to Spring Training but didn't play much. Did hit a homer in one of my two hits. The Sox ended up trading Will Middlebrooks so I made the big league club out of the spring. Pinch ran in my debut and then got to hit later in the game and had a 2 RBI double at Texas.

I made a 2B, 5'7'' 153 pounds. Can't hit worth a damn yet but that's more user error than my guy I think. Got drafted by the Astros in the 5th round but went back to school. Playing the showcase now and one of my first hits hits the top of the wall, bounces straight up, and comes back down and I get a double. Literally inches away from my first homerun. Other than that I suck at the plate but god damn am I a defensive specialist.

Got a RTTS going right now with a CF prospect that has a long beard and flowing locks. Was drafted in the 3rd round by the Washington Nationals.

First career ML hit was a double against the Marlins. Took a screenshot and saved it, just haven't uploaded it yet.

Spent 2015 as a bench player in MLB. Didn't hit very well for the first few months with the Red Sox. They ended up trading me to Baltimore in June where I'm still a bench player. Kind of depressing getting traded to a team with Manny Machado playing in front of you lol.

O's won 100 games in 2015 and we made it to the World Series where we lost to the Giants in 6 games. Unfortunately I only played twice during the WS as a defensive replacement in the late innings. No plate appearances.

Now in April of 2016 and I'm still a bench player, but I'm getting fairly regular starts all around the infield and I'm hitting pretty well so far. I've asked to be traded so I can find a team where I can start, so we'll see if that happens.

My happiest moment came in 2015 where I hit a pinch-hit walk off homer over the Monster while with the Sox. I'll have to find it in my stream archives and upload it to YouTube.

I've played two games of that showcase thing and I don't think I'll even make the tee-ball squad in Alva, Oklahoma. Can we be drafted as bat boys? Or hotdog vendors?

That's where I was.... 7th round pick then decided to go to a 2-year school and do the process over.
