I still haven't dived into '14 cause I'm waiting for the last OS roster update with pitching edits. Depending on what kind of hitter you want, I would focus on contact/discipline/vision before putting power. I'm not saying ignore PWR but might now want to put everything into power. Until you have the power ratings, I would stay away from the power hitting button (if you use it). Look into the type of pitches and past pitches the opponent has thrown. This can be time consuming but it will help you guess (w/o using guess pitch) his next pitches. It doesn't work 100% of the time but if you are down 0-2 and know he's thrown 2 FB...sure the last one won't be that (possible slider/changeup). I have learned to back off the 1st pitch of the AB, unless it's down the middle. I also press power hitting for the 1st pitch, just in case it is down the middle. At this point in my RTTS, any mistakes are because of the user (me)...his numbers are up there. I know this years edition makes it harder to increase ratings. I like that because I won't have to set limits on individual ratings, so I don't have a 99 RTTS across the board. This reminded me that I need to update my RTTS. I've just been playing it non stop, trying to get into FA (3yrs of MLB service out of 6).Comment
