NBA: The Sting Of The Deep South | A New Orleans Hornets Chise
Round one is over , the dust has settled . There is only one thing being said in and around New Orleans as you walk through the streets ... "Beat LA" . At this point it is nothing more than whispers , nobody quite thinks that its possible , but while there is a chance there is hope.
LA won 4 more games than New Orleans this season , you would`nt know it , most Hornets fans dont think that their beloved team can pull it out and make it to the WCF . Why not ? Surely the fact that the Hornets beat LA more times than the opposite would install confidence ? We decided to visit the local Hornets forum to see where this air of Negativity has came from

I dont think anybody on our team can guard Kobe hes unstoppble . They have 3 championships while we have never came close to one in recent history

Chris Paul > Kobe Bryant

LA knows what its like to win the big game , we dont .... our team is so.....young and not used to the bigtime pressures of playing championship like games

I dont think we can win on the road ...... i have game 6 tickets , lets hope we are still in the series by then
The numbers would indicate that New Orleans stand a good chance , 3-1 over LA in the regular season , Chris Paul is playing better than ever , Peja is on one of his famous "hot streaks" and Tyson Chandler is finally starting to contribute on offense .
It seems like the lack of confidence comes from New Orleans little playoff expierence in past years . But surely this team has showed that it can perform when it matters? "ala game 7 v the Suns"
Our Prediction is a 4-3 win for L.A .... the stats show that the Hornets cant get it done on the road .... and LA are the best team in the Western Confrence (Apart from the Hornets) at defending the Homecourt
Schedule
Wednesday - Game 1 - In LA
Friday - Game 2 - In LA
Sunday - Game 3 - In New Orleans
Wednesday - Game 4 - In New Orleans
Friday (If Needed) - Game 5 - In LA
Sunday (If Needed) - Game 6 - In New Orleans
Tuesday (If Needed) - Game 7 - In LA
It was confirmed today that starting PF David West will be out for 2-4 weeks with a seperated shoulder . The injury occured when West dived for a loose ball towards the end of the Hornets crushing defeat to the Lakers in game one
This may be the end of West in the playoffs depending on how far the Hornets go
Marvin Ely will take West`s starting PF spot with more minutes added on to Julian Wright also
wow good shit just read the last three pages, good series against the suns, and great reads on the articles, sucks about west that might hold you from a ring, FYI if the game is out of reach put in the scrubs!
"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.
