Verlander And Sabathia Do Battle; Verlander Emerges Victorious

    (12-8) vs (12-8)

Carlos Guillen was a home run away from hitting for the cycle and showed he can handle his duties at second base in this one.

Justin Verlander went the first 8 innings, giving up no runs on 5 hits to notch his 2nd win of the season. Carlos Guillen was a perfect 3 for 3 with an RBI to lead the way offensively in a game that didn't feature all too much offense.

Dude, lemme break it down for you how much of a fucking rollercoaster this game was. By far the most fun game I've had on the show thus far.

Bottom of the 8th, I'm down 4-5, Magglio blasts a 2 run shot, I go up 6-5. FUCK YEAH
Top of the 9th, I put in Rodney, Posada blasts a 2 run shot on me, I go down 7-6 FUCK NO,
Bottom of the 9th, Gerald Laird pinch hits for Clete Thomas, solo shot, ties it up 7-7, FUCK YEAH
Top of the 11th, another 2 run shot by Posada, I'm down 7-9, FUCK NO
Bottom of the 11th, 2 run shot by guillen, tied 9-9, FUCK YEAH
Bottom of 13th, Magglio gets on base, Miggy gets on base, runners 1st and 2nd, Guillen comes up and drives one under the glove of A-Rod, Magglio comes home, TIGERS WIN FUCK YEAH

haha, thanks. It's just crazy. After that 2nd home run by Posada, I was just like, "Gimme a fuckin break already." My guys have some serious fight in em. I almost got into an argument with my boss today about the RL Tigers. Kept saying the Tigers don't have the heart to win the division this year.

No doubt. Galarraga got shaken up early on. It's the Yankees though. They are difficult outs. Just happy I was able to get myself out of hot water on numerous occasions.

                Series Review:

                Things We Did Well:

                - Sub 3 ERA in 3 games against the Bronx Bomers. We'll take it!

                - Prevented any of their speedsters from stealing bases. Johnny Damon included.

                - Prevented Alex Rodriguez and Marx Teixera from becoming involved in this series. They are a big part of that Yankees offense but we found ways to quiet their bats.

                - 26 to 7 strikeout differential. We are waiting for decent stuff to hit, while getting a lot of swingthroughs when they hit.

                Things We Didn't Do Well:

                - We weren't as aggressive on the basepaths as we normally are. Understandable though. Going up against Andy Pettite and C.C. Sabathia who are both lefties, going to be much harder to read to try and steal bases.

                - Ryan Raburn and Ramon Santiago continued to be more of a liability to the club than anything.

                - Curtis Granderson, who has had a very good April, kind of fell off the map in this series.

Everett Shoots The Tigers In The Foot With 2 Throwing Errors In Series Opener

                              (14-8) vs (12-10)

The Tigers dropped the first game of the set with the Indians, who picked up the victory on the road. The Tigers lost an AL Central battle to the Indians by a final score of 4-1. Providing the only offense for the Tigers tonight, was Miguel Cabrera, who went 2 for 3 with a solo home run. However, what hurt the most was two throwing errors by Adam Everett on routine ground balls. In the 5th inning, with 2 outs, Grady Sizemore was able to reach first on a throwing error. The Tigers would've been able to get out of the inning unscathed but unfortunately, Mark Derosa would double and Victor Martinez come in and belt a 3 run shot before the Tigers got the 3rd out. That wasn't the end of it though. In the 7th, Asdruabal Cabrera was able to reach second on an Everett throw that ended up in the stands. Derosa would bring Cabrera in on an RBI single. None of the Indians 4 runs were counted as earn runs to pitchers Jeremy Bonderman and Edwin Jackson.

The series will continue tomorrow, with a pitching matchup of the Tigers Rick Porcello (2-0 , 3.14 ERA) against the Indians Scott Lewis (0-1 , 5.66 ERA)

Yeah, sidearm pitchers are a bitch to hit in this game. That + them scoring because of random errors by one of the best defensive shortstops in the league. Left the game before I could even manage to get screenshots. :pissed:
