This thread just rehashes what a shitty year it has been for music.

Somebody should buy Warner Brothers a medal though, album is released on the 11th of September and by some miracle it didn't leak till this morning (the 9th). These day's to keep an album under wraps that close to release is like running a 3 minute mile with Andre Smith on your back.

        Well worth the wait though.

Them Crooked Vultures release will probably also end up here if it's released this year. The genius that is Josh Homme, John Paul Jones and Dave Grohl back where he belongs, banging the shit out of the drums rather then writing another shitty Foo Fighters album.

Still waiting for 'Threats/Worship' by Lullabye Arkestra to drop through my letterbox. Could be a contender.

Until then I've got 'Land Sea and Sky' by Blyth Power to be getting on with.

Then we've got El May's debut dropping next month and the outside possibility of new Devo and Nina Nastasia LPs before Christmas.

2009 is pretty half fucking decent really.

The Resistance is without a doubt the album of the year
