THE WIRE is the greatest show ever.

So everytime I re-watch The Wire, I learn about 20 things I didn't know before. Why? Mostly due to not paying full attention as well as putting 2 and 2 together. So here's something I just learned while watching the second season specifically episode 11:

 

The fed dude in the San Diego branch was working for The Greek and is the reason why Sabotka gets killed under the bridge. Unbelievable. I originally thought The Greek and pals had all intentions to kill Sobotka when he was coming to hear out the plan to free Ziggy. But it was only until the phone call from the San Diego branch that told them Sabotka was gonna rat.

The NBA playoffs might be the best show running. "The Wire" remains one of the greatest things in TV history. Bill Simmons blends them in a candid, two-part celebration of real drama.

That's a much better way to evaluate the seasons than just ordering them. I agree with that scale in terms of execution and quality but if I were ordering them in terms of emotional impact:
