Being overrated has nothing to do with mainstream, it has to do with the level of acclaim their work gets.

Let's see if they met douchey terrible Indie band requirements -

2.) Appears in something related to Chuck Pahlaniuk - Check
3.) Popular, but not quite popular enough to make Mainstream (Even though The Pixies are quite mainstream) - Check

todays offering is from a band that is one of the most poplar groups in the world. they have even spawned their own religion. going strong since the 70's they have released 14 studio and 7 live albums, including rock in rio. This band is the quintessential metal band and they have survived the hair metal scene and that crap known as grunge. Raise your fists high and lets all scream out 'Up the Irons!!!!"

The pixie's are still garbage. Don't start a thread about real music with those idiots.

I could've followed your post up with anything and I still would've won. It's not too hard too top Tool, I just decided to go beyond the requirements.

Ha, sorry, but that's pretty funny.

Considering music is subjective, I understand that you think Tool is better than The Hold Steady, I'd like to see how top rock critics feel about that though.

ok, now that all that highjacking shit is over, back to my real music...

todays lesson is on one of three bands to come out of canada and not suck. The name of this band is simply... The Band. Their movie the Last Waltz is a must see for anyone who thinks they know what music is all about. Levon Helm's voice is unmistakebale and can go from a smooth sounding southern drawl to a scream in no time flat. Guitarist Robbie Robertson's ability to combine licks with rythm is second to none. This band could be a funky swing band one minute and then a cool smooth country band the next. The Band officailly broke up in 1976, but their music has endured becasue that is what good music does. enjoy...

I can pick apart THS as well. Just as I'm ignoring a frontman I'm never been intrigued with your ignoring one of the most sophisticated straight out rock and roll lead singers in modern time, plus probably the beat lead guitarist in contemporary music.

IT's funny, because when I listen too Tool I think about how ordinary and boring they sound, while I've only found one band who sound like THS, which is The Replacements, Craig Finn's favorite ban.

P.S. I hate Kings of Leon, and don't listen to The Strokes.
