Listened to this prolly 5 - 6 times through and it is growing on me. Soundtrack of my life, sky might fall, Hyyerr are all tight. Going to listen to it some more before giving it final judgment but so far so good.

Drake is going to be mainstream/college kids and he'll never be able to get out of that niche as all real Rap/Hip Hop fans will say, wow this guy is a bunch of empty blowjob lyrics.

CuDi has his niche of that quirky and different sound that's not quite rap and not quite Hip Hop, not to mention he'll always have the potheads on his side.

Truthfully anyone who's listened to The Mixtape About Nothing and thinks Wale isn't the future isn't listening closely enough.
I have yet to listen to any of Wales music, its on my to do list.

There is no one in this freshman class with A potential other than J. Cole, unless you try and count Blu, but he's three albums deep already. You have all these guys that are getting touted just because they're 'different' than the standard, but come to find out the alternative guys really aren't that much better.

          This albums is weak.

          Wale is not "next".

BP3 is a below average album

The Purple Tape 2 is the hardest shit to drop this year.

You know what, at this point in time, I agree. Wale is farther along as an artist than Cole and is more polished, but J. Cole has a much higher upside - the most I've seen in a new artist since Lupe Fiasco.

I didn't say J. Cole was as good as Lupe. I said his potential as an artist is the most I've seen since Wasalu.

Jesus Christ, do people not read anymore?

EDIT: A megahybrid of Cudi's songcrafting, Drake's singing ability and female/crossover appeal, Wale and J. Cole's charisma and wordplay would be incredibly scary.

I'm feeling this Cudi. Very catchy shit. Very hit or miss, but the ones that hit are fucking awesome. I have like 6 different songs stuck in my head right now, just looping in an endless medley.

I'm dubious on Cudi's musical talent but his song making ability is top notch. Really liking "Up Up and Away" and "Soundtrack to my Life."
