    BEROWSK'S Unplugged Thread

    This thread examines acoustic versions of rock songs of the past. It's a great place to find alternate versions of songs you may once have known, but forgot about them. Check it out, you will find some surprises.

    In our first installment, we will go back to 1999, when Live was mildly famous and only played on rock stations. This was about 5 years after Live's fame from Lightning Crashes. I remember listening to Y100 in Philadelphia, when it was actually a great station, and hearing this song. It brings back great memories. Here is their performance of Dolphin's Cry in Holland.

          Why do you feel the need to be an attention whore and hijack other peoples threads? Please just let it be man. I don't need you to counter what music I put up. There is no "winning" by posting music to counter what I posted. If you want to post, comment about what I put up.

            Relax champ, Is this what this thread is about? - I thought it was about acoustic versions of songs & No one is "countering" your videos. LOL, like I said - Ease up.

            If all you want is someone to comment on the video you posted, Will do.

            That acoustic version of Dolphin's Cry is pretty sweet & Live was mildly popular in their short tenure.

              Thank you, I just saw what you did in Jake's thread, and it annoyed me.

              In the same year, Incubus came out with their first single for their next album, Make Yourself. Make Yourself was Incubus's third studio album, after Fungus Amongus and the successful S.C.I.E.N.C.E. This single is Pardon Me, one of the defining songs for Incubus's fame. Here is Incubus's live acoustic version of the song.

                One of the few Incubus songs I don't like live, it doesn't have the same intensity as the album version.

                  True, but it really shows what Brandon Boyd can do with his voice. Here is a great live version of a song by Incubus. Even though not totally acoustic, it's still worth a mention. One of my favorite songs. Aqueous Transmission.

                      I definitely love that song unplugged. Actually any song that has Eddie Vedder singing in it is a great song.

                      [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3SxCph5I1Q&feature=related"]YouTube - Eddie Vedder - Guaranteed[/ame]

                      Here is the song "Guaranteed" off of the Into the Wild soundtrack. In my opinion, the soundtrack of Into the Wild was one of the best motion picture soundtracks ever released. The album would have been a key in for an Oscar, but a sound track isn't considered a sound track unless it is released after the movie, and the Into the Wild soundtrack came out before the movie. Eddie Vedder just puts so much emotion into his singing, it's hard to dislike him.

                        Another singer who put so much emotion into his music was Layne Staley of Alice in Chains. Layne will always be one of the great grunge singers that took his life early. In April 2002, Staley died from a drug overdose. Layne Staleys voice can never be matched. Here is their most famous song Rooster, which is the story about guitarist Jeffrey Cantrell's father in the Vietnam war.
