Yea, I'm thinking the son did it, but only because I have no faith in TV writers as a whole and always think they'll try to throw a rediculous twist in to fill a plot hole.. If they go the way they should, Trinity killed her and that's that.Comment

Well, the problem with it potentially being Trinity is that it didn't fit his M.O. He would have broken his cycle in 2 ways.Comment

Didn't Trinity still complete his cycle? Rita was the woman in the bath tub, his daughter jumped to her death, Trinity was the old man killed and Dexter saves the boy being buried.Comment

Trinity "passed on" the cycle so to speak. it started with his dead mother (or sister? i forget) in the bathtub. by killing Rita, what he essentially did was created a new evil both for Harrison and by freeing Dexter of his wife. I think Trinity knew that Dex would come unhinged as a result. Mr. Morgan always takes a metaphorical part of his victims. they give him power. they often teach him things about life (great example was when he had the husband and wife on the table and he delayed the kill to ask them questions about how they maintain their marriage) and in this respect Trinity sealed off any hope Dexter had of leading a normal life.Comment

For those of you who don't think it was Trinity who killed Rita, try and find the sit-down interview that Michael C. Hall and Lithgow did after last season's finale.Comment

Oh come on. That's totally unfair in a show like Dexter, particular after the way season 5 started. I definitely thought that Trinity killed her based just upon the ending, but had thought about it regardless. When season 5 started the way that it did (before they totally threw out the concept that it isn't Trinity's M.O.) I don't think it's crazy to think someone might doubt Trinity didn't do it. At the very least it wasn't beaten like a dead horse.Comment

I would agree though that the show is full of twists, but I thought that scenario was pretty cut and dry.Comment
