My money is on Quinn being framed for robocop's murder. He has his blood on his shoe, and at the 38 second mark it looks like he's in a questioning room depressed.
I hope they don't write him off. He means well, and he'd be a good adversary for Dexter next season, as he knows Dexter killed robocop.Comment

Disappointing ending, how many times are they going to cock tease us with Deb possibly finding out about Dexter? At least Julia Stiles is gone. Episode was pretty weak except for the knife to the foot.

The only thing left for next season is for Dexter to finally be caught and most likely arrested by his sister. At least we won't have to go through the motions of wrapping up the previous season for the first few episodes again. I think wrapping up Rita's death really hurt the overall thrill of this season.
I agree with others in that next season probably has to be the last. It's been a great run, and extending the lifetime of the show further is more likely the diminish its quality.Comment

Very bummed thatLike Lundy, Jordan was dispatched of so quickly and easily. Really ripped the suspense right out of the episode about 1/3 in. Then the shit with Deb walking away was just facepalm. When will this show realize that Deb finding out about her brother is the only really 'holy shit' moment it has left? It's almost as if Showtime knows this is a cash cow so they want to stretch it out to 7 or 8 seasons. (I really hope next season is the last.)
Though it was pretty bad ass how Dexter tricked Jordan into thinking he had the upper hand only to stab him in the foot. Unfortunately that was the only cool part of the whole episode really and it happened in the first half. No real thrills here, this season just kind of meandered about, looking at it as a whole.Comment

I feel let down, and I feel like they should have ended the show with this season. it could have been the perfect conclusion to the story. Instead I am left wondering if there is anything left to explore with the character.
I will post more after I sleep on it and probably watch the episode again, but right now, I am extremely... sad. Dexter deserves better.Comment

This review says it better than me, but sums up exactly how I feel, and likely many of you. (Contains spoilers, don't click unless you've seen the episode.)

They built it up decently enough to have a good "showdown" between the two, but the end result was lackluster.
I'm also glad that they didn't get rid of Quinn yet. I really like the character and think that it will be a good storyline for next year, if they choose to go that way of course.Comment

I have been waiting for Jordan to die for so damn long, and I am glad it finally happened. I am in the minority and say I didn't "hate" the ending, but I didn't really like it. The only good part of this, is that when blowing out the candles Dexter says something about how he was almost considering himself human, but wishes were for children.
I am hoping that is foreshadowing a huge fucking blow up next season (which we were hoping for this season, like how he blew up on the guy when he stopped to get his boat gas in episode 1 in the bathroom). I think the only things left in this show is Debra finding out and it all unraveling, and for Dexter to just go apeshit killing bad guys.
I really hate to say/do this but I hope it runs for a shit ton of seasons, because even a bad Dexter...is better then no Dexter at all.
Only thing that bothers me about all 5 seasons of Dexter, is how nobody addressed the adjoining room to Cole Harmon's hotel room. When he crashed through it to get Lumen in 2-3 previous episodes to the finale, then he goes missing, vigilantes are suspected...why not look into the person who rented the fucking room or find out why the door was crashed through.
I am a Dexter fan boy. Keep this shit running for as long as you can. It's the Brett Favre of television.Comment

But I agree. I didn't dislike the finale at all. Certainly not the greatest episode ever, but it was the right ending to this season. Julia Stiles leaves us(Good, but I like the character of Lumen, just not who they picked to play it).
And as for the hotel room, Dexter no doubt used a fake name. And maybe he went back and fixed the door? I know there's nothing that would lead us to believe he did, but whatevs..
And yes, Dexter needs to continue until he grows into an old man and has Cody, Astor, and Harrison do the killing for him.Comment

Here is something similar to the hotel thing that bothered me:
Liddy saw Dexter and Lumen dumping bags into the harbor, bags that he figured could have a body in it ... In this TV universe, was there not a huge news story just a year or two ago about bodies being found in the Harbor? Why wouldn't Liddy/Quinn ever put those two together that maybe this is the still at-large Bay Harbor Butcher? That's what is really starting to bother me about this show. Every time Dexter comes close to being caught, he gets out of it at the last second, which is cool, but there is no cumulative effect. All of the circumstantial evidence from seasons 1-4 would be enough for SOMEONE to put it together at this point, or at least you'd think, but the events and information of one season don't ever carry over to the next. Also mad that they dropped the storyline of Deb looking up dirt on her dad. All she had to do was find out that the Ice Truck Killer is Dex's brother and the dominoes would start to fall. I guess they are just waiting for the final season for all that good shit though.Comment
