The episode on Thursday sucked ass. Chevy Chase had one line in the entire thing, and he's easily the best part of the show.

What happened to 30 Rock is exactly what's going to happen to Community. The only difference is that I have a little more empathy for the characters in Community.

Care to expand a bit? I've never been a huge 30 Rock fan, I watched the first 2 seasons and thought it was alright but I've never understood why it wins all the awards.

Both shows are incredibly "meta". Almost everything is a joke within a joke, and they're very rapid-fire.

It's great for the first 2-3 seasons, but as 30 Rock continued on that path it sort of became of joke within itself. The characters have no depth and I don't give a shit what happens to any of them in the end, because they're all so plastic.

I hope Community doesn't go that route, but I see it happening already with Pierce.

So I just got into this show by a friends request. Absolutely love it. Just got through the first episode of season 2 this afternoon. Have to say my favorite characters so far are Abed and Troy.

Reading back through the thread i still think that season two was a big disappointment after season one, but season 2 is $20 right now so I'm gonna pick it up this weekend and give it another shot.
