Producers have said that it's one of the main mysteries that will definatly be answered this season, although i'm preety sure I know who it is.

 

99% sure it's Jacobs buddy from the start of the last season finale from the beach. We know for sure that he is Locke, and that Locke is dead. Fake Locke/Jacobs Buddy made Ben go see the Smoke Monster, and what do you know, it just so happened that Smokie told Ben to do whatever "Locke" told him to do.

See, I think that there was some "deal" which is why the "bad guy" says he wishes he could kill Jacob, but HE can't, so he used the monster to hunt down the Lost survivors, trying to find the strongest most suitable character to embody, somebody that could convince another to kill jacob and do his dirty work so he would be the last supreme being left.

somethings lost in translation here....if the bad guy needed to find a big bad dude, why Locke? If he's simply using his body, why not use Sawyer? We're led to believe the only major character who at some point was embodied by the smoke/bad dude was Locke when he found Jacob and pushed him in the fire.

By the looks of thing, it has to be a corpse - Sawyers still living and breathing, just in the 70's. As well as that, Locke had more of a leadership role amongst the survivors, as well as being the chosen one of the Others, meaning he (Fake Locke Bad Guy) could easily manipulate someone to take out Jacob, something he couldn't do.
