Nightmare on Elm Street Teaser Trailer

Trailer looks surprisingly good, but damnit, I am still very much reserved on this film...the originals hold such a special place in my heart.

Freddy even looks a little like Rorschach (same actor). Could be solid.

I've been too scared to watch the originals after seeing the blood shoot out of the bed while channel surfing when I was a kid. Need to man up and conquer these fears.

someone needs to take out wes craven. idk if hes remaking all his classics for the money or if he just enjoys watching his classics being butchered. whats odd is that hes been there overseeing the remakes and they still suck. swamp thing is already being remade as well

i still refuse to watch the last house on the left remake

I am perplexed by this statement, are you talking about Ron Palillo who played
            Horshack on Welcome, Back, Kotter

Robert Englund played Freddy in the original's

the new guy is Jackie Earle Haley

i couldn't resist making a Kelly Leak joke.

anyway.... I am still not sure, but still going to see it.

The reason why i loved the idea of remaking Friday the 13th and hate this idea is because Friday the 13th movies are so awful you can only go up, don't get me wrong awful in an entertaining way i love them.. but felt a remake would work, not to mention most of the Jason story was unfolded over all the movies instead of just being set up from the begining so it gave an opportunity to start it out right, here the best movie in the Nightmare Series is the first one which is not only one of the best if not best definately top 10 horror movies of alltime it was a landmark in independant film and stands to this day as a great movie. and unlike Texas Chainsaw Massacre which was also a great landmark in Indy film, it was done so well it stands the test of time and holds up better. But it does look decent enough to watch

At the end of the trailer his face looks like a mask, almost like Watchmen.

''The new project will keep the high school setting and delve deeper in the psychology of nightmares and Freddy Krueger himself.''

It certainly worked out great for Rob Zombie, didn't it?

This movie has fail written all over it.

His face is scarred from the burning...this take on Freddy's face is more like what an actual person would look like should they be burned (ie: no lips, no complextion in the skin, few open wounds, etc).

Nuk...I think it'll fail too, but we shall see. Haley was about the best choice you could make if you went in another direction from Englund...

I still think it'll suck, I just pray it won't.

yeah another movie that didn't need to be remade.

during the chase scene, he sounds like a girl, "What did i do?", Kyle Ganner, or whatever needs to get out of Horror, Haunting in Connecticut, Jennifer's Body, now this, Smallville should just bring him back as the Flash, getting sick of the Green Arrow.

also, this is a Michael Bay production, that should tell you to STAY AWAY

Leaked reviews of the film are out...doesn't look too good.

The movie starts off at a diner with a boy at a table trying to stay awake while talking to his girlfriend about his nightmares (The girl is essentially Tina from the OG Nightmare). He falls asleep and Freddy comes in and forces him to slice his on throat with a steak knife in of her.

At this point I thought the movie had potential.

Next is the funeral where the Tina character (they changed her name to I don’t remember what) realizes from an old picture she sees of her boyfriend that she knew him as a child. She doesn’t remember knowing him before high school so she decides to investigate and then dies next to another boyfriend she has after sex.

The exact same way she dies in the original. Then he runs away to find Nancy to tell her about how she died, then gets arrested and is killed in his cell. This is where it gets dull.

Turns out Nancy and a handful of other kids there all went to the same pre-school and their parents thought they might have been molested by the gardener who lived in the preschool basement: Fred Krueger. When they talk to their kids about it they’re told about a secret cave Freddy takes them to.

On the word of their kids (who are 4 and 5 years old at the time) they hunt Freddy down and throw a lit can of Gas at him and kill him. Now Freddy is after all the kids who went to the Pre-School.

By this time there are only 2 kids still alive who had accused Freddy of touching them. Nancy and the Johnny Depp character. They travel to the old abandoned preschool break into Freddy’s old room in the basement. And the big reveal at the end of the movie? You’re going to have to watch the movie to find out.............

Just kidding save your money. Turns out he really did molest them... and he’s seeking revenge on all the kids that ratted him out. Nancy falls asleep and grabs him when she is woken up and brings him out of her dreams, then proceeds to beat him with a baseball bat and accidently sets him on fire again. Freddy’s dead and the Johnny Dep character survives with major scars on his chest. At this point everyone in the theater is glad its over... its not.

Then presumably weeks later Nancy with her arm in a sling from her battle is talking to her mom when out of nowhere Freddy grabs her mother through a Mirror and slices her head off. Roll Credits.

Nothing here worth seeing. They took a good movie and destroyed it. Then made Freddy’s burned face realistic and un scary at the same time. On top of that there was no cameo by Robert England anywhere to be found. One or two decent death scenes outside of that not worth watching. It almost seems like a made for cable movie.

The fun Freddy we remember who makes jokes at the expense of his victims is there but only at the last 10 minutes of the movie and by then it was too late. I was really hoping this movie was going to be good. I bet they are going try to make it PG-13 because there wasn’t that much gore or blood, no nudity, and I heard the work “Fuck” only once... so prepare yourself.

                        Call me the Anodizer.

And, we got ourselves a movie poster, too...

Why couldn't they just get Robert Englund to play Freddy. It's not like that mother fucker is making other movies.
