    Nuk's Top 15 Movie Villains of All-Time.

After watching so many movies in my life, I got to thinking about about some of my all-time favorite villains. So, I figured I'd just throw it on here. There's nothing quite like a great villain, to make a good movie, even better. And in some cases, they can even make average movies more tolerable. So, I'll kick off my list with my #15 favorite movie villain of all-time.

    #15

Most people prefer Robert Mitchum's version of Max Cady, due to Deniro taking the character a bit too far. But I figure, If you're going to portray a rapist/murderer, why not go all the way? Maybe Mitchum played the part better, and maybe the original version was a better overall movie - I won't argue that, but Robert Deniro gave us a character that no one would want to double cross, and if you're going to portray Max Cady, the way Martin wanted him portrayed, there wasn't a better choice than Robert Deniro. Travis Bickle is probably the better choice here, but again, this is just MY favorite movie villains of all-time, and in the case of ''Cape Fear,'' the villain was the only reason I bothered finishing it.

I'll always remember him when he gets hit in the face with the boiling water and says "Are you trying to offer me something hot?"

    I lol everytime.

Nice pick. And I would argue that Travis Bickle isn't the better choice because he is not the villain...anti-hero...but not villain.

BTW, great minds really do think alike. I wonder if you saw this...http://www.virtualsportsnet.com/foru...6&postcount=23, its in my "decade in movies" thread.

        I consider vigilante's/terrorists as villains.

I suppose ''V'' wasn't the villian either, since he simply wanted equal rights, by doing whatever needed to be done, to get it. I mean, who cares about blowing up a few buildings, and brainwashing people into believing the same horseshit he believes in... Kinda like Travis Bickle. Being the lesser of two evils, doesn't make you the good guy, IMO.

Nurse Ratched is highly considered one of the best villains of all-time, but she actually didn't do anything wrong, from what I remember. Unlike Bickle and V. I guess we all have different definitions of ''villain.''

          Tommy Devito.

Who better to play the arrogant, sleazeball Tommy Devito, than the arrogant, slimy little sleazeball actor - Joe Pesci? He was born for this role, and any role like it. Did he even have to read the script? I wonder how hard he laughed after? Perfection.

Theoretically, I agree with you. In real life, anyone who does what Bickle does or what V does or hell, what Batman does for that matter would be a villain. However, within the context of the movies they're in, they're not portrayed as such. In Taxi Driver, Harvey Keitel as the pimp (drawing a blank on the character name, right now) is much more the villain, though in the end Bickle is the one who commits murder. My point is it kinda depends on who the movie wants you to root for. Bickle is obviously the guy the movie wants us to identify with and pull for even as it wants him to disturb us. On the other hand, the much tamer actions by Nurse Ratched are played as atrocities against humanity, thus making her the villain in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

              Nurse Ratched.

This is a tricky one, because honestly, I didn't consider Ratched as a true villain. But since she's is highly regarded as one, and since the performance is one of my favorites, I'll toss her on the list. She's one of two actresses who make this list. The second will be coming up shortly.

                Wicked Witch of the West.

Margaret Hamilton is more along the lines of a true movie villain. She's worthy of being in the top 10, maybe even top 5, but she gets 12 on my list.

                  Jame ''Buffalo Bill'' Gumb.

While Anthony Hopkins got all the credit as Lecter, and he's the popular choice here, I decided to go with my personal favorite - Jame Gumb. Hell, take away the insects, the kidnapping and murder, and he reminds me of myself on Saturday Nights. Yes, I'd fuck me.

I hope Stansfield is on this list, he is a very underrated villain portrayed by an underrated actor in an underrated movie.

                          Lee Van Cleef/Angel Eyes.

What would my list be without Angel Eyes? Lee Van Cleef was the perfect villain. When I first saw the movie ''Pale Rider,'' I thought ''Damn, he would have been perfect as Stockburn.'' I've always wondered why Eastwood didn't bring him in for the role.
