    The quote

"Music should be like football. Once you turn 40, you should become a manager or get lost. It's for kids. You lose perspective. You don't have 66-year-old football players. There's a reason for that."
I disagree. WTF does an old man trying to play football have to do with music?

I don't think age should be a limit, but the number of albums released.

Trent Reznor is over 40, but due to (until recently) taking 5 or 6 years between albums he is still releasing quality Nine Inch Nails records while you have bands like the Foo Fighters who are younger, but are on their 8th or so album which, while once great, are now just releasing shit and aren't even that good live anymore.

When was the last band recently to release say an 6th or 7th onwards album and say "this is honestly amongst our best work."

It really depends on the genre. I'm a huge Blink 182 fan but I am already dreading their reunion. Something about guys in their mid 30s singing about being teenagers makes me want to cry.

Yeah anything that's in the Pop Culture vain should be axed at 30 let alone 40.

Other artists can go for as long as they'd like.

They should just retire when they get off drugs.

Chet Atkins says fuck this article, or he would if he didn't pass in 2001.

He kept doing what he loved until the day he died, and was one of the best at it.

Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Books and Dunn (not anymore), Darius Rucker, and Toby Keith etc..
