He didn't invent it, but without Hendrix Rock and Roll would not exist in the same form it does today, guy influenced a ton of bands.

clapton, beck, and page (even though he was a sloppy fuck) did more for rock and roll than hendrix did. hendrix was all flash and his white boy rythm section made his music listenable. cream shits all over the JHE and the beatles and that fat cover artist elvis are what brought rock and roll to the white masses.

Is that why rock and roll is so fucking terrible these days? I've been trying to figure it out, maybe you just helped.
So, metaphorically speaking, our physiology basically has the universe mapped out and you're thinking it needs to be taught addition & subtraction.

Also to SteelJake, ask Eric Clapton how much Hendrix influenced him.

You don't have to like him, his style isn't for everybody but to call him overrated is silly. He was doing things on guitar and in the studio nobody had ever done before. Take it as you will.
since they both played at the same time and clapton got famous before hendrix, you fail.

also, since the beatles were doing layering of guitars and other stuff in the studio (they and sir george martin basically invented multi tracking) waaaaaayyyy before that lsd freak hendrix was, you fail again.

and as for you saying hendrix did layering live, now you are just an idiot. what did he do, clone himself and play the multiple parts at the same time?

look, hendrix was famous for being flashy on stage and dying young, that is all. he didnt advance a genre, he was even the first darkie to play rock and roll. cream kills the JHE, the yardbirds do as well. so just stop with the hendrix was great shit.

Les Paul, 1948. Also invented overdubbing, tape delay, etc. You fail. GTFO.

lol @ this still being a guitar conversation.

So, where are we today? What exactly did Hendrix invent again? The distortion/Wah-Wah pedal? Feedback?

you ignorant moron... the beatles and how they recorded stuff (using more than 8 tracks, slowing down and speeding up takes on songs to match them up) laid the ground work for how things are recorded to this day. les paul and his 2 track recordins and him using his finger to make a tape delay want even a drop in the bucket. so stfu emo boy.

Maybe this ain't the right spot but so what! Chuck motherfucking Berry

Nuk's list started off poorly but finished well. Most of the list is made up of shitty fools who don't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Hendrix.

I'm a fucking audio engineer you bulk sized sack of Sam's Club shit. You're swimming in infested waters here.

Les Paul released a track through Capitol Records called "Lover, When You're Near Me" (or something to that effect) in 1948. It had EIGHT different guitar parts. He even recorded some at half speed, so it'd be twice as fast when it was played back at the master's normal sample rate.

                          Any more rebuttals? :asskicking:
