Just got back, thought it was really well done. Freaky, mind fuck of a movie.

The ending is subject to interpretation, but basically he relapsed and needs a lobotomy. Some speculate he fakes the relapse so he won't have to live with the memory of what he and his wife have done. Hence the line at the end: "is it better to live as a monster or die a good man?"

        about the ending

This is just my opinion and I havent read the book so I could be wrong.

He said the line "I dont know whats worse, to live on as a monster or die a hero"

When he says that and walks away, I got out of it that he knows hes Andrew and that he made up Teddy, but he'd rather pretend hes Teddy "the hero" and basically die from the lombotomy(since it basically destroys everything about you hence like death) then live on as Andrew knowing he had killed his wife for drowning there kids.

Speaking of the kids though, when he came home and realizes what happened, I actually couldnt breathe for a few seconds cause I started thinking what i would have done in that situation. leo played it good.

I haven't seen it yet... Some dude said he doesn't know shit from the previews... To those who have seen it... Is this accurate? :

Cop is sent to investigate the disappearance of 'criminally insane' woman. She 'alludes' to their being an extra patient at this hospital... He takes some drugs during his investigation that cause him to hallucinate... The nurses and doctors and clerks are in on some sort of poisoning of the patients or something of the sort...

I still want to see it, though. Wanna fill-in the pieces.

You guys are looking too far into it. He definitely went through what happened in the flashback, it's foreshadowed throughout the movie. The only thing that is unclear is whether or not he is aware that he's not Teddy at the end.

Kind of.... There is much more to the movie than that though.

I would hope so. I can't stand movies where you see the whole thing in a damned preview...

I thought I figured it out from the trailer too, but believe me, what you posted is maybe 5% of the actual plot. There's a lot more in depth of an explanation.

And even if you do figure it out, just enjoy it, it's still Marty f'n Scorcese. I'm tired of people getting so caught up in guessing plot twists, and focusing less on the execution of said plot twist.

The whole "ZOMG didn't see that coming!" gimmick that M. Night ushered in with Sixth Sense has made moviegoers less savvy. Instead of just enjoying a film for what it is, they focus more on playing Guess Who and Clue all movie long.

We had these super annoying 12-year old kids behind us trying to dissect and analyze the whole movie. I told them to quiet down like 5 times. Then when the lights come on, I see they were with their dad the whole time. First of all, what kind of dad brings their kids to a rated R psycho thriller by Marty Scorcese, second of all, what kind of dad lets their kids talk through an entire movie?

I should've slapped some theater etiquette into his spoiled brats right then and there.

Great movie, it really matched up to the book well. I don't have many criticisms, Leo over acted at times, the score was horrible and over dramatic, but Leo gave a good performance and Scorcese kept the movie tense and suspenseful. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie even though I knew the ending.

Trust me, if that's all the info you've seen/read your still going to get your money's worth in the twists and turns department.

Leonardo is truly is one of the best movie actress, agreed?
                        It's not a horror movie.

It was really good but honestly it felt really predictable.

I felt as if I could call each part.

Much like you guys, I am spectacle as to how to interpret the line at the end of the movie.

Meryl Streep is easily one of the best actors of all time. And this is not just my opinion. She is as natural and as real as it gets on screen.

lol @ you thinking you know more about film than film producers, directors, actors, etc.

You might not like her but that doesn't mean she isn't a great actor.

Agreed 100% about Meryl Streep. As good as it gets on screen and has fantastic versatility.
