DivX components
-Converter (already have a converter)
-Player
-Movies (don't even know what this is for)

I'm trying to get some of the useless crap off of my computer. As far as DivX, the only real reason for me to keep it would be for the Xvid codec.

I might keep WMP, but I can't really imagine why. Can't think of any real reason to keep iTunes or QuickTime...

What do y'all think?

Okay. Gonna get rid of those... How can I export music files saved as MP4's under iTunes? Because I still want access to those...

Also, is it possible to uninstall the DivX components without uninstalling the Codec? Because all three components and the codec are listed individually under my "Programs and Features" on my Control Panel, and I don't particularly need the other three pieces...



EDIT: Argh, can't uninstall iTunes because I'm gonna need it when I buy my iPod... Can't uninstall WMP because it's part of Windows.

Quicktime is needed for some online movie content on the internet so there is no point in uninstalling that.

WMP is part of windows and I don't even know why you would uninstall that. It'll just break a lot of shit.

Itunes is needed for ipods unless your syncing it another way.

Long story short. If you don't want to be posting on here later that your comp is broke and you need help fixing it then don't randomly go uninstalling things. It'll just lead to problems later on.

VLC can pretty much play anything as long as you dont have an iPod/iPhone you don't need iTunes.

Yeah with VLC player and WMP you can pretty much get rid of your programs listed. But if your trying to free up space, removing them won't give up much space.

BUT WHAT ABOUT DIVX? Apparently, I can't just uninstall one part. It has to uninstall all three parts (codec included). So, whaddayall think?

Anyone have any good sites for smaller files that the VLC player can use? I downloaded movies onto my laptop from my DVDs, but those files were fucking huge. I know I can get the same shit in a different format, and I can watch them with VLC, but my tiny stupid brain doesn't know how.
