    Oscars

Anyone watching them tonight? Most if it is annoying so I just tell my mom to call me for the good categories.

Yeah I'll be watching, but will turn it off if James Cameron wins Best Director. Like the guy's work, but cannot stand to hear him speak. Not a great year for movies, but I am still excited to watch the Oscars.

Exactly, Avatar had great visuals and stuff but the story can't compare to the others.

This has been a terrible year for movies, not interested in it at all. I watched the whole thing the past two years though.

I'm not watching it - Jeff Bridges will get screwed.

And I won't be a part of that.

They seriously just should've said we don't have any candidates for Best Picture this year, so we just decided to give to The Dark Knight because that movie rocked and we realize we're pretentious douchebags and are sorry for not nominating it.

Yes, but, mgo - The Blind Side > The Dark Knight, right?

The Oscars will officially lose all credibility if Avatar/James Cameron beats the Hurt Locker/Kathryn Bigelow. While this year might not have had quantity, but the Hurt Locker is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I watched it on blu ray last night. Oh my god, what an experience.

                          :iagree:

I thought Avatar was a very good movie, but Hurt Locker was the best film of '09.

The Hurt Locker or Avatar will win...not sure which, I went with The Hurt Locker, but whatever...

Neither was close to best picture of the year. The best nominated films were Up In The Air, Inglorious Basterds.

I actually didn't realize The Blind Side was a nominee. That movie looked like a Hallmark classic and from the highlight clip they showed, it sounds like it contained some of the cheesiest dialogue ever.
