Was just rewatching the new Robocop movie.
They say about 16 minutes in and I'm quoting "We've thrown money at both sides of the aisle. Nobody's budging, they don't want to go against their constituents." And earlier, in the court hearing, a politican threw out the statistic that 72% of Americans are against machines being put on the streets. Also on the scene where the quote was said in the background the figure that with machines in law enforcement would bring in 600 Billion of potential revenue and they already have them in many other countries so they aren't a small corporation by any means and must already have a lot of money.
When was the last time something like this happened in American politics?

Saw Spiderman last night in IMAX 3D. Holy shit was that the way to go...it looked fantastic. Electro's scenes and the Green Goblin transformation scene were really nice. And FUCK did they get the GG right. And the fact that it's Dane DeHaan? Shiiiit. I loved it. I am all for Andrew Garfield as Spiderman.
