I started watching Battlestar Galactica a few days ago. We'll see how this goes.

Wiley's last two releases have been shit.
Streets of Rage Vol. 2 more than makes up for the disappointment. My favorite grime release of the year. Either this or Merky Ace's Blue Battlefield.

I was bored and read about secret meanings for movies on something awful....some of them were pretty interesting
Black Swan
My girlfriend has this theory about Black Swan whereby Natalie Portman's entire psychosis is based around systematic sexual abuse from her mother. There are numerous suspicious things that back up this thought: Natalie barring the door from her mother but in the morning finding the door unbarred and open while she slept; the bizarrely creepy scene where her mother comes to her room wearing her nightdress saying "are you ready for me?" before the scene cuts; the awkward scenes where the mother washes her; Natalie shouting back at her that she can't touch her anymore because she's not a child. There are more examples but those are the ones off the top of my head that I can remember from her explaining this at length to me.
The jealous tone Nina's Mother would take when asking Nina about the director and her relationship fits that line of reasoning as well.
I also think the Mother was the one who performed oral sex on Nina.
Moon
Everything from the land rover crash onward is a dying lonely man's fantasy. Before that point, nothing out of sorts happens, except that Sam is hallucinating other people because he's stir-crazy and hasn't had a real conversation in nearly three years. So he concocts a story about clones and an evil corporation, unable to deal with the fact that he's dying less than two weeks before the end of his tenure. Note that at the end of his fantasy, he is returned to the land rover, and the last thing he sees is the payload containing a "new" Sam taking off into the heavens.
Indiana Jones
The Indiana Jones franchise is entirely about the evolution of religion, if you go through Indy's story chronologically:
Temple: Paganism. Dark rituals, ancient gods demanding sacrifice.
Raiders: Old Testament God, looking out for the Jews, smiting indiscriminately, doesn't care who he hits with lightning (except apparently if you don't look at him)
Crusade: New Testament God, will spare you if you're a good person and understand the teachings of Jesus. However you still better watch yourself.
Skull: New age religion, people finding power from objects like literal crystals.Comment
