It seems like horror movies today are all about gore and grossing people out. There aren't many recent movies that take the time to build up tension and get good scares from the audience. I'd take a lot of 20-30 year old horror movies over most that were released in the past 5-10 years.

But it's not just horror films. It's all movies. They suck in general. No plot or character development. Hollywood makes remakes because of how easily they can make their money back. Hollywood tricks people into seeing shitty movies based off of name recognition.

Watch this guy's reviews. Fucking hilarious stuff, but he really does a good job analyzing the few movies he has reviewed. The Star Trek (2009) one is really good, because he analyzes the whole film name-recognition thing and talks about remakes and whatnot...

In the TNG reviews he discusses how terrible the TNG films were in comparison to the show. (I've never watched an episode of any Star Trek, so I'm going off of what he says.) In his Star Wars prequel reviews, he contrasts them with the sequels.

I might have to make the jump to Boomerang full-time.

Boomerang is da shit, say what you want but I still record Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry. I'll admit though they got rid of alot of shows that I use to watch and they've replaced them with shows that started on Cartoon Network like Dexter, Samurai Jack, Courage, etc...

You ever watched Disney XD? At around 1AM they show old classics like Gargoyles, the original X-Men, Batman: The Animated Series, and some others.

Breaks my heart however that nowhere on TV anymore can you find the original Chuck Avery type cartoons, the ones that CN use to show years ago on Saturday mornings.

GOD DAMN IT!!! THE STAR WARS PREQUELS HAD SO MUCH FUCKING POTENTIAL! But George Lucas nearly single-handedly disassembled a movie series he worked so hard to build.

The movies were so great when they were made in the 70s and 80s - with no amazing special effects, and made under duress. When shit goes wrong, you have to make it right. With no adversity, and all these special effects, none of it means anything.

There's no clear plot, no character development, and so much detail of the relationships alluded to in the original trilogy (particularly Obi-Wan - Anakin) don't really exist in the prequel trilogy. The Organa family isn't even introduced until the third movie.

You want to hear the saddest commentary about the prequels? Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith is the best one. Damn you, George Lucas, damn you to hell. (lol)
