    Discovery Channel's The Colony

anyone watch the 1st season or see tonight's season 2 premiere. I never watch the 1st season, but saw the season 2 premiere tonight. The show has a interesting concept. What's your thoughts?

Did they lie to these people and tell them the world actually ended? If so that's pretty cool, if not then it sounds pretty fucking gay.

I think they know it's not real.

I like the concept of it and I'll try to watch it when I can. I watched a few episodes of the first season and liked it.

i just couldnt get myself interested to watch it, and it followed deadliest catch which is a religion for me. i saw the opening credits where it said "producers aid the colonists if they are in any real danger". i also caught a snippet where they said they put a carpenter in there. it would be better if they put a bunch of spoiled rich kids in there or something, but it seems like the producers gave them the tools to succeed, which sounds like shitty tv to me

I think they do give them the tools but it's their job to find them and put them to use. The area they are in is not small by any means. One instance they found a 'live' battery but they didn't bring it back with them the first time, so when they went back to get it it was gone.

saw one episode and hoped it could be good, but it's just not

i mean, the "bandits" were throwing molotovs into this garage they had barricaded down. So people sign up for a show with the chance they are going to get hit with a fucking molotov? I don't think so.

Furthermore, when the bandits finally broke in, they just narrowly missed getting their hands on them. I think to myself, what WOULD happen if they did? They going to beat up these people with their lead pipes and shit? No, no they aren't.

It's just so far from believeable it ruins it, but the concept is pretty intriguing.

yeah thats what im saying. if society really did fall apart, there would be split skulls and people would get killed over this shit. they showed some stuff where the bandits came and they were basically just shoving each other. if i was a contestant i probably would have laughed. the only way the concept would work is in ways that theres absolutely no feasible method to do a television show about.
