*NOT A TROLL ATTEMPT* When does The Wire get interesting?

Finally watching from the beggining after all of the hype. I'm half way through Season 1 and I gotta say, I'm not hooked. Its ok so far, but nothing groundbreaking/must watch/can't wait for the next episode.

If it doesn't get any better, I'm tossing in the towel at the end of the season. Some episodes have been flat out boring. When does it pick up?

I'd say episode 9 or 10, the basketball game whenever that is.

Yeah, right now its a by the numbers police drama, which is the most overdone genre on tv. I'm giving it a chance.
