I knew after the last episode that Jimmy was going to die. It just didn't quite hit me until it happened.

Historically you know the show will eventually shift into Al Capone probably. Van Alden isn't going away and will probably be involved with the show in one way or the other. I just hope for more Richard. It's going to be interesting how those two play out (Richard, Jimmy's mom)

I watched the show to mainly root for Jimmy. I just don't know what to think now. I know it was brilliant to kill him and it was fitting. I just don't know if I'm going to have the same enthusiasm to watch the show.

I may be in the minority here but I don't really care to focus on Nucky anymore. The show has showed that it makes drastic moves I just hope that it focuses on other characters besides Nucky.

Still trying to process my thoughts and emotions on the ending, but that was a tremendous episode.

The final scene between Jimmy and his son was touching.

      Cowboy, or soldier?
      Soldier.

That little kid has an interesting life ahead of him, possibly raised by the crazy pyscho incestuous bitch or under the wing of a deranged and emotionally detached war veteran. I personally hope Richard puts a bullet in Gillian's head first thing next season and raises the kid on his own. We know based on his scrapbooks that he is obsessed with the idea of family.

You could tell from the way Jimmy was acting all episode he knew it was coming, and he didn't give a shit. Just his interactions with his son, and the scene with the pony where he looked back at his mom. So fucking ominous.

Jimmy wasn't my favorite character, but he was definitely the most intriguing, besides maybe Nucky. He really seemed to be coming back to where he was at the beginning of the first season, which was easily his most likable. His final thought though, him leaving the bunker, what a moment.

Good interview with Terence Winter. Spoilers, obviously.

And I just found this, a goofy rap by the guy who Van Alden drowned in season 1.

I feel like killing jimmy was an interesting move, you could tell his story arc was coming disastrously to an end in the last couple episodes and if he wouldnt of gotten killed i dont think there would have been that many new places to go.

as far as things i hope for and dont hope for next season
            - i dont wanna see richard raising a fucking small child, jesus christ those scenes would have absolutely no dialogue or action
            - id rather see richard go back to chicago and team up with capone
            - i wanna see nucky go apeshit and slap margret or drag his sack across her face and owen or whatever that weird little fuckers name is step in
-more of the redheads titties, the average this season was maybe 1 titty scene every 3 episodes if that.:turrible:
-i dont wanna see her kiss that little boys wiener :cantfap:
-many horvits and meyer leinske hook up and do some kind of big jew-little jew killing tandem thing

I can't think of a more prominent character being killed at the peak of his story, ever.

You have Christopher in The Sopranos, which surprised me, but not on this level. This shocked me. With Christopher, I wasn't surprised so much that he died, because on that show everybody pretty much dies, but that he lasted so fucking long somehow and then they knock him off with like 2 episodes left.

People like Big Pussy, Adriana, and Tony Blundetto, they were not main characters, and in all three cases you knew they had it coming at some point and it was unavoidable.

I don't know how I feel about Jimmy yet, because I really should have saw this coming because he bit off more than he could chew. I give them credit for doing this. It took some balls for sure. That whole scene is now legendary, as is the episode. And I guess that's the point of great television. To stir you up. They really made you care about Jimmy, then killed the fucker. Well done. What a great fucking show this is.

I'm actually not that surprised about Jimmy. I kinda got the feeling early this season that this is where it could be headed. Mainly because the show straddles the line between fiction and history pretty effectively, but Jimmy was the biggest piece of fiction in it. The biggest deviation. I guess they could have just said "screw the history" and gone forward with Jimmy but that never seemed to be the way of the show.

Interesting that van Alden ended up in Cicero, as that's Capone's stomping ground.

Maybe not as prominent as Jimmy, but maybe just the act of Shane killing Lem was one of the most powerful scenes I've witnessed on TV.

I thought the Nucky-Jimmy storyline was what really made the show for me, although the other story lines are intriguing enough to get me back next season.

I remember Richard talking about how he grew up with his twin sister on a farm in Wisconsin. Maybe he'll try and take Jimmy's son there and work in Chicago or something.

In that interview it said they're going to jump forward about 16 months in time so that should be interesting.

The obvious one would be The Wire but I take it you bowed out before that season. Still debating myself over which death was more shocking.

I think I'll bridge the gap between seasons by reading some of the nonfiction books out there on Atlantic City, Rothstein, etc. Can't get enough of this right now.

Yeah, I remember that post. Looking into them now.

Looks like the you can only get the HBO tie-in edition of the book, which is nothing different, I just like original covers better.

I was able to figure it out by the buzz on the net after the episode, it helped to soften the blow, I hate it, but it wasn't his show.

Next year will be different, maybe we get more chalky

I read a whole bunch of interviews with Terrence Winter and he is very much interested in exploring characters we haven't truly gotten into yet to fill the void of Jimmy. This includes Chalky, Rothstein, Lucky, Capone, Richard, etc. I'm excited for that. After everything I've read from this guy, he knows EXACTLY what he is doing and I am really supportive of whatever he tries to do. I love Terrence Winter's balls. :D It'll pay off.
