She's Nucky's public image, and for whatever reason she's still willing to do the work to maintain that image, if she's gone there's no one, on top of him having to explain why his wife has suddenly disappeared. Also, that leaves the show with one female character of importance, and Gillian's has less than a handful of scenes, not a particularly good idea when it comes to modern television and how critics would perceive it.

I can't believe this almost fell off of page one after that tremendous episode.
Bobby Cannavale needs to win every award that exist for acting this year. Fuck it, future years too. Every Emmy, Tony, and Oscar. Give him all the Grammy's, too. American Music Awards, Slammy Awards, the black things they give out on BET where the rappers shoot each other, AVN Awards (hey, he went full frontal!), VSN March Madness, ALL. OF. THEM.
I died when Chalky made the actor perform for him. Scene of the year.Comment

I do agree the past two episodes were great. I'd have to say that is 95% Gyp Rossetti, who is an absolutely brilliant character. The auto-erotic asphyxiation was really a great little touch and I love how it almost got him killed (not due to suffocation either). Since the first second he was on screen you knew what you were in for with this guy; they have not disappointed one bit. The aerial shot of blood splatter-covered and naked Gyp walking through the hallway filled with bodies and blood - this is what I imagine it looks like if you peer into Gyp's mind or soul.
So, with Billie Kent inadvertently being thrown in Margaret's face and the doctor having a fiancee, will Margaret fuck Owen again? Owen has to be getting frustrated with how Nucky treats him and this is the easiest way to get back at him for it, especially since he always had a thing for her. Nucky finds out, kills Owen, promotes Eli and that's where Margaret officially begins plotting her revenge and Eli does the same, Nucky is killed by one or both of them, end of show.
As satisfying as that Chalky scene was, I'm ready for him to be involved in the main storyline.
Gillian has some serious mental issues.
Bugsy Siegel getting a lot more work these past few weeks, I like that. The sneaky nature of the hit on Gyp was nicely done and I can't wait for the aftermath, since he was the only one to survive. Bugsy even killed the poor paperboy.
Nucky's obsession with Billie Kent is frustrating, I'm sick of it and it's already causing problems with Rothstein calling him out on it (that could have been last week, don't remember). This musical is going to become a huge hit and Billie's gunna hit the big time and tell Nucky to fuck off, right? That's what I'd prefer to happen at least.
More Richard Harrow. More Mickey Doyle. More Chalky White. More Capone. No more Margaret. Thanks.
edit - forgot Van Alden's wife killed that fed and he had to go to the flower guy (forget his name) to dispose of, so now he's certainly going to owe him a favor. Good to see he's officially going to get his hands dirty, working on the other side of the law. I hope he and Capone somehow manage to work alongside one another somewhere down the line, but it seems we'll see the opposite.Comment

They are definitely setting up a Capone- Van Alden show down I think. Van Alden will be with the North Side against Capone's South Side. Got a feeling Nelson doesn't survive this season.Comment
