She didn't need a body to legally get the house as far as I'm aware. It was symbolic; she's lost the plot and needed to see "James" dead before she could move on.

Richard Harrow, that girl he's been seeing, and Tommy are all going to leave together at the end of this season and go live on his family's farm in Wisconsin and have a nice wholesome family life where nothing bad ever happens to them for the rest of their lives at the end of this season.
