        Two things....

-I hate that trailer and fear the show is heading down a yearly big bad road. Plus nothing in that looks very interesting aside from a possible increased role for Chalky.

-Kelly Macdonald does not appear in the first five eposides that were screened by critics. YES.

The show peaked at the end of season 2. Now it'll get too caught up chasing new characters and expanding. First two seasons are all time greats, third season was really good but began the slow decline.

I am also of the opinion that the show peaked the moment Nucky killed Jimmy. They will never top the drama & tension associated with that scene. Jimmy gave the show somebody to root for, and while I wouldn't necessarily change anything, the show definitely misses the Jimmy element.

I loved Season 3 because Gyp Rosetti was one of the greatest characters in TV history, and it was an all time performance by Bobby Cannavale. But I agree that the show is probably on a (hopefully) slow decline from this point forward.

Even killing Gyp was a mistake because it sort of cheapens his impact.

And this is why I fear that "big bad" syndrome is going to set in. I really, really hope not.

I disagree with the decline. Sure the end of season 2 was one of the most dramatic moments in TV history, especially with the Jimmy background buildup which made you think he was going to take over, but Season 3 had, at least I feel, a stronger complete product. The Commodore story lines was plodding in its buildup, whereas the 3rd season had multiple buildups including the Billie death, Slater's death, and finally Harrow's off the rail moments at the end. I'd say they are on equal footing for me, the show overall could prove to be one of HBO's finest productions ever by series' close, it's already the most amazingly produced period piece I've ever watched.

I thought last season was great, wasn't sure how it was going to go without Jimmy, but they convinced me. My only fear is them getting sucked into a season-by-season villain thing, but I imagine the show will end in Nucky's downfall and if so hopefully they start the leadup to that a season before it happens.

I feel like getting Jeffrey Wright was an indicator that the next villain will be around for a while.

We've also barely scratched the surface with Lucky, Bugsy, Capone and the other well known gangsters.

Just admit it guys, the Jimmy-Nucky dynamic cannot be topped.

Paul F.Thompkins does a terrific Richard Harrow. Listening to him on Comedy Bang Bang right now.
