I thought that was all just a ruse that Gale and Gus had worked out to trick Walt into giving away the recipe so that Gus could get rid of Walt eventually and just have Gale as a chef down the road.

They both showed up together earlier this season and were around long enough for Jesse to realize that he has nothing in common with them anymore.

I do like the Gretchen theory as well as the cancer being back theory. The next nine months are going to be horrible and AMC doesn't help the matter by sullying the BB time slot with a farm drama sponsored by KIA with an occasional zombie sighting or two when it's out of season.
i agree...the autographed book seems far fetched too. Especially when you consider that Hank sat with Walt and showed him the notebook with the WW reference in it....walt got away with it because of the walt whitman poem in the notebook. But why in the world would he keep a book in his home with a WW note written to him......another hole in the story....this show is full of a ton of them, so its not out of character. I noticed them because i just ran through every show ever 2 weeks so they are much more noticeable.

For instance, one thing that always bugged me. The Gus's chicken trucks that got shot up. I guess it never occurred to anyone that in the middle of the meth market where the cartel was sending messeges to the feds all through the show, that maybe it was a bit odd that chicken trucks were being hijacked and shot to shit. There were murders in those trucks and nobody thought that it might be related to something more than some angry chicken customer? Throw in the DEA or Hanks hard on for Gus and that part never factors in? These are Feds, not local cops so its not like that type of info would circulate through the federal chains.

I also agree that the cancel will come back. It will probably end up killing him or maybe they leave it open ended so they can continue in the future....the talk of going on through more shows has been mentioned and even the typical lets make a movie talk has come up. But the show was based on him having cancer so its gotta come back into the fold at some point.

there was no book ever discussed or mentioned. There was a poem by Walt Whitman in the notes gale had...the front of the notes had the WW note written in it and Walt used the poem to explain the WW note to hank....but there was never any book

Gale never gave a book to Walt. The handwriting in the book and in Gale's notebook are not the same. It is obviously Gretchen giving a gift to Walt. However, it just so happens to set Hank off into thinking Walt may be his Heisenberg...so, he'll be trying to nab Walt next season...and Walt, who is out of it at this point, will somehow get back into it...perhaps due to his hubris or perhaps out of need...either way, he'll get back into it and I guess Hank will either bust him or confront him...and he'll end up in New Hampshire.

I think Walt will somehow enlist Saul's "eraser" to get a new identity and then just goes on the run.

I haven't gone back and looked, but I figured there would be a 'go' bag ala Mike's in whatever car Walt had in S05E01

Has anyone else sat back and just thought "this is how indepth this show has me....I am now looking to see if handwritting is the same"
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

                    "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Same here... I'm locked in on the "N's", they're identical.

Also as far as Walt getting back into the meth business, I'm not so sure it's going to be his choice. Those guys from Arizona probably aren't too keen on losing their brand new cook who is making them richer than ever and now that he's fucking around with Eastern Europeans all bets are off IMO...

Something tells me that whole "the family doesn't get harmed" policy doesn't really apply in the Czech Republic. I also wouldn't be shocked to see that the drug connections at Madrigal go higher up the ladder than Lydia. Gilligan showing us the CEO of the company meeting with the DEA makes me think he's going to be a player before all is said and done.
