Hank is and was the moral compass of the show.

The death of Hank is symbolic. The show now no longer has a moral compass...what is going to go down in the final two episodes will throw out any concept of what is wrong and what is right...and that is going to be the beauty of the show...it is going to leave the audience as the ultimate decider of what is wrong and what is right the rest of the way.

along with tht i always felt Hanks character was seen as a bitch at home. someone who is tough on the outside but soft on the inside. Look at the way he handles Marie? Funny how this trait probably leads to him calling her which is a huge deal.

75 minutes with commercials. Show airs from 9-10:15pm EST. I think Vince Gilligan said they have 6 extra minutes of actual show per episode. I could be making that up, but I believe I read that somewhere.

I don't actually watch the show live or on DVR. I torrent it and that leaves it edited without commercials and most of the credits. I'll be able to compare tomorrow night.

FWIW it's neither extreme he was both dick and savior. Walt managed to verbally dismantle and put Skyler in her place while simultaneously telling the cops it was all him. It was not only brilliant writing but Emmy worthy delivery.

I interpreted it that way basically immediately. Walt says crazy shit like "It was ALL ME," "What I DO," taking full responsibility for killing Hank even though it wasn't what he wanted, etc etc.

What I'm more curious about is whether that was his plan all along (when he took Holly) or if he came to that decision once he changed her diaper and she was calling "mama, mama." I'm inclined to think that he snatched her on impluse and then later decided to "do the right thing" by taking all of the credit/blame and subsequently disappearing via Saul's new-identity guru.
