Great premiere. This might be the best acted drama on television right now. So fucking good.

Also, the game action this episode was really well done. Vince's TD run looked pretty realistic.

It's a television series, not real life. You want to see non exciting blow outs then stick to FSN.

You don't need every freaking game come down to the last second of the entire series to come to a last second score. Every game that has been won by Coach Taylor is a last second win. You would figure since the Panthers were one of the best teams in the state they would be beating teams more than 7 points a week.

I totally get what you are saying, but you are exaggerating a bit. There are a ton of "made for TV" finishes on the show, yes. But I can think of plenty of games which were a blowout for either team. The only ones that have really been absurd are the comebacks in the two state finals games, and the season finale of last year with the long field goal.

The football parts of the show stray from reality sometimes, but it's a family drama more than it is a sports show. I watch it for the acting and the shooting. If the football stuff only slightly bothers me in terms of realism at the end of an episode, I usually consider that a win.

It's fictionalized, obviously. This is the same show that had certain characters go through multiple senior years. I overlook these relatively minor things things because it's just a damn good show.

Everyone who was on last season, minus the original cast members like Smash, Street, Saracen and Lyla.

Seen in last night's ep:

Riggins, Billy, Billy's wife, Becky, Tinker, Luke, Buddy G, Coach Taylor, Tammi, Julie, Lance, Vince, (forget her name but Vince's gf aka Jernie Smollett's character) and we even see Saracen's grandma for a scene.

Just to warn you, Julie and Lance go off to college at the end (not a spoiler because it's A. in the episode description and B. they mention it like 5 minutes in) so it appears they are out. Oh and they introduce a new character too, a new player on the team (white guy).

From what my girlfriend read, all the old people will be back for the last two episodes. It's gonna get bromotional in my house during this season of FNL.

I liked Street, thought he was a nice guy, but once he knocked up that waitress I was over his character. Just had nothing to do with the show anymore.

I was sad to see him go though. Just like Smash, who I never really liked. When he finally made it to school I was TV proud of him.

Nobody can touch that character on the show.

Yeah, everybody loves Saracen. He's the coolest. But as far as great characters goes, Tim Riggins is up there.
