If youve never watched these.....watch em.

I always find it interesting just how different the pacing was in movies back then. Directors seem to take there time with the story telling.

Just the fact a sci-fi horror and a russian invasion movie from the early 80s are extremely watchable speaks alot about them.

Red Dawn is being redone and most of it was shot in Michigan. A good part of it was pretty close to where I live, in Pontiac and then some in Mount Clemens. I really like the original, definitely recommend it.

The Thing is a very good movie. I always lol at the part where MacReady has everyone tied to the bench while he's testing their blood.

I agree wholeheartedly about the pacing of movies back then. Filmmakers worked pretty hard to set up good scares. Finding movies with similar pacing and set up is rare these days.

Red Dawn is a good nostalgia movie, not one of my all time favorites, but still a fun 80's romp.

The Thing is a horror classic, fucking love this movie, can watch it over and over again, my personal pick for Carpenter much more than Halloween.

Apparently the prequel to The Thing is going along good. The private 5 minute clip shown to fans at some event was awesome.

The Thing is required viewing as part of the 'body horror' genre.

You see what the body can do under the influence of an alien virus, knowing that your buddies and even YOU might not be safe.

That and the worst shit happens in the dark and YOU CAN'T SEE THE MONSTER THAT'S ABOUT TO EAT YOU... :scared:
