No, worse... he was the Aerys II Targaryan -aka The Mad King's - son.

They don't talk about it in the show, but King Aerys was deserving of that Jaime Lannister sword in the back. One noteworthy crime was when he killed Rickard and Brandon Stark (Eddard's father and brother). He strung them up in the throne room and burned them alive in their armor - cooking them over a pyromancers' Wildfire flames.

And this is why I hate how they did it in the show vs. the book.

 

i thought those kids were dead and my heart dropped while reading. Then about a week later i found out they were alive and danced a jig. These characters in ASOIAF really resonate with me for some reason.

I hate to be that booknerd, but things i feel that are important that are left out and completely changed storylines have spoiled this season for me. I still intently watch because its mostly good.

The whole Qarth storyline has been so far out there in the TV show that im lost.

You can write the most detailed, vivid description of an axe entering a skull, and nobody will say a word in protest.
