I don't know if 10 will be enough to get everything in. the books keep getting longer. Some stuff will get the shaft or extremely hurried.

Why is this show only getting 10 episode seasons? Most shows like this get 12 or 13.

I read somewhere or someone here said [ I can't remember] that they may break Book 3 and further books into multiple seasons. Seems that would definitely slow the pace down, but having to break up a book over a course of two television seasons may not be good.

Also, production costs for this show are astronomically high which I'm sure is a huge factor.

And my gf hasn't read any of the books, and it took her 2 watches of season 1 to really appreciate it. Season 1 episode 1 had just as much of a bananas "who the fuck are these people!?" feeling for those that don't read the books -- maybe more so, because at least they get the idea now.

i said setup....we didnt need setup for what we already knew about.

thats why i said they introed some new characters but acted like we knew who they were. how was anyone supposed to know they were the bastards? there was no mention of it other than joeffrys conversation with his mom

and the preist chick....there was never any mention of her or any of that non sense prior to this show. i am not reading the books like you guys, so you cant just assume that stuff is known

There was mentioning of it. Ned sought out Roberts bastards in Season 1, even before he knew about Joffrey not being the true heir. I specifically remember the mom talking about how the girl had Roberts eyes, and Ned saying that the girl would never have to want for anything in her life.

I'm not reading the books either, just paying attention to every scene.
