I think I need to change my underwear...

Singer 'likely' to issue follow-up to 2005's Aerial later this year, claims spokesperson

Two releases in six years? You're in danger of being labelled "prolific" here Kate.

Being an American stuck in the 70's/80's/earlier 90's when it comes to music, I have no idea who this woman is.

Would this be the short-version equivalent of Guns N Roses' "Chinese Democracy" fiasco?

      No.

'Chinese Democracy' was a debacle by a long since relevant band who were essentially a glorified tribute act living off past glories of people who hadn't been in the band for years.

'Aerial' was the culmination of an erection-sustaining, 12-year long drooling wait for new material from one of the few true musical visionaries of the late 20th/early 21st Century.

New material from Kate Bush is nowhere near the constant "It's nearly ready, it's nearly ready" attention seeking that Axl dragged out for God-knows how many years. With Kate you spend years waiting and hear nothing, then you wait some more and hear nothing, then you hear a rumour that there might be something this year and maybe even a tour...and then nothing. More waiting and more nothing.

Then one day you hear that there's a new Kate Bush LP in the shops, you rush out and buy the CD, the vinyl, the cassette and the 8-track, then come home and sit there too scared to put it on. You know it's not going to be as good as 'The Dreaming' but there's no way it could be as ordinary as 'The Red Shoes' yet you can't bring yourself to play it. Then, about a month down the line you bite the bullet and put it on and spend the next 75 minutes in drop-jawed awe at the pure brilliance that one woman can etch into four sides of plastic.

You say you're an American stuck in the 70s/80s/early 90s? I recommend that you go out and buy all eight Kate Bush albums (2 from the 70s, 4 from the 80s, 1 from the early 90s and the aforementioned 2005 'Aerial'); put your headphones on, turn the lights off, lie down on your bed and enjoy the finest six and three quarter hours of your life so far.

I almost forgot about relaxed's obsession with Kate. Now I remember.

I randomly heard 1 of her songs the other day, it was pretty good. Probably should check out an album.
