Rather it be buying your first album, listening to a certain artist for the first time. Watching M.J. do the moonwalk for the first time, Watching The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show, or even the death of people like Tupac, Lennon, Cobain(not that anyone should be sad), ETC..............................
First album I ever truly went out and brought was The Marshall Mathers LP when I was nine. It was at a Hard Rock cafe in New Orleans, I was shocked they let me buy it by myself.
I was expecting a bunch of silly songs like "The REal Slim SHady" but was really surprised when I heard the song "Stan".
Before that, the only CD's I ever brought were soundtracks to movies I liked, and random CD's I picked out because I liked the album cover.
In my lifetime no artist that I've listened to has died while still making music. So no memories of that for me.
Some firsts I wont be forgetting anytime soon.
"Illmatic" by Nas. I heard the CD was good but I had no clue it'd be that good. I listened to it everyday for about the next 4 months.
"Eleanor Rigby". The first song I heard by The Beatles. Until then I assumed they were just some overrated old group. (The 60's version of Elvis Presley)
First time I heard Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On".
