    The White Stripes Break Up

Meg and Jack White thank fans for the support over the years: "Your involvement will never be lost on us and we are truly grateful."

Hate to see this, but I guess Jack wants to concentrate on other things.

Heard about this yesterday. Guess he's 100% for The Dead Weather now.

Well as of right now, he is working with Wanda Jackson after producing her album. I think there was thought about returning to The White Stripes and it just didn't happen, for whatever reason. I can see him working with The Raconteurs again as well. Or maybe just The Green Hornes, in some form. He could also go solo or start a new project. I don't think he completely knows yet, so I wouldn't say "100%" for The Dead Weather. All of the members have other projects, and I for one would like Jack White to do something else.

          NAME DROP

I know Jack White's nephew. His dad was actually on Leno, I think, last week.

Never got into them though, but this is the usual way of bands, a few years hiatus, then breakup.

I think the arrival of Third Man Records brought this on more than anything else. Jack's been heavily involved in the production of singles for his label.

The Dead Weather can disappear for all I care, but I'd like to see another Raconteurs album.
