Hangover II is a carbon copy of the first one, yes. I think everyone knows that going into it. If you're hoping to find something new and unique, you'll definitely be disappointed. If you're looking for a pretty solid comedy, you should be happy.

Some parts made me got WTF though. They were just awkward.

Yep exactly how I feel, from what I've seen of Part 2 it just looks like a rebore of the first movie in Thailand, replace prozzys with ladyboys, etc and that'll be it, my expectations aren't high at all.

I saw it on the midnight release I enjoyed it but felt like I was expecting too much from this one after enjoying the 1st one so much it was ok nothing more for me

Just saw it. I laughed. Which is the entire point of the movie. Anyone looking for a different story or situation is a moron. The movie was all about the laughs. In my opinion mission accomplished.

I enjoyed it a lot. Not as much as the first one, but it was still really fun. I may even go see it again with some different people. I usually like Zach G movies though, I know a lot of people who were disappointed with Due Date, but I loved that as well.

It definitely has the same characteristics as the first one which should've been expected, but it was still able to execute it and make it funny. I would say based on the reaction, majority of the people in the theater I was in enjoyed it as well.

I think one reasons I like the first one better is because going into it it was fresh, you didn't know exactly what to expect or anything, but going into the second one you sorta had an idea of how things would start/end. Which still being able to pull it off and make it funny when you know what is probably going to happen says a lot IMO.
